We want to announce and congratulate our 2025 ARCD Speak Off Contest winner, Sophomore Lexi Himmel, of Amador High School! In addition to holding academic honors and enjoying her defensive position on the Girls Varsity Flag Football team, she is also a member of the Sutter Creek FFA chapter, as well as Blue Ribbon 4-H where she has held both President and Vice President positions. Lexi has been raising livestock for the majority of her life, including cattle (beef and dairy), dairy goats, poultry, rabbits, cavies, and her favorite: swine. She volunteers within the community through 4-H, FFA, the Volcano Community Association, and Amador Choraliers.

Put simply, Lexi plans on learning to raise livestock in a sustainable way through rotational grazing and other practices to maintain soil/ land health. She is looking forward to learning more about the world of agriculture by attending local, state, and national 4-H and FFA events, and we wish her luck on all of her future endeavors! Congratulations, Lexi!
